Hey y'all!
All is well in the islands!
Today was great, but pretty damn busy. The local schools have been having sports day yesterday and today and yesterday they challenged some of our runners to a 4x100 relay and of course, they took the challenge. It was really fun! All the local kids were out and they were so excited we were around because that meant swimming lessons start soon. We start tomorrow, actually. The kids took all our cameras and took some really creative pictures. They'll be up when the internet is stronger.
Oh, and if you're wondering, we came in 3rd out of 4th. And I did NOT run...haha.
We also had a tour of the conch processing station. It was absolutely crazy. There were so many animals being processed. One guy brought in upwards of 600 pounds of conch. Conch goes for $.80 a pound, so they make pretty good money. They get $3.25 for lobster, but thats not as common. The Turks and Caicos are one of the biggest conch exporter in the world, and after seeing all the meat that came in today I can see why. They bring in THOUSANDS of animals every day. It's crazy. Pictures will be up of that too.
Tomorrow, weather permitting, is our first dive and I can't be more excited. I really hope we can do it!
