This was from East Bay on Sunday. Lee and Val, one of the locals got into a really awesome jam session, with Lee playing guitar and Val rapping or singing. It was pretty sweet.

This is some of the dogs that hang out with us at East bay.

Hey y'all!

So...today ranks up as one of the best days of my life.

We were out diving this morning and when we came up from our dive, one of the intern's Jan, told us that the other dive boat was snorkeling with humpback whales. So of course we took off going as fast as our 60 hp motor would push 7 divers, 3 staff and all our crap. (Not very fast). We looked for about 20 minutes and saw nothing. We started getting bummed, since we were SO excited before. Like, we were joking about how we hated whales and how stupid they were and suddenly, a humpback whale BREACHES about 200 meters from the boat. Most incredible thing EVER. We followed them for a while, watching them play. They were rolling around in the water, diving so we could see their flukes, and just generally showing off. We jumped in the water twice when we thought we were close enough, but we missed them because they're way faster than they seem. The third time, we got right up beside them...20 meters away maybe and jumped in the water. I SNORKELED WITH A HUMPBACK WHALE. I only saw it for maybe 5 seconds before they swam away but it was incredible. They were pretty close...some of the guys got REALLY close, like within a couple meters.

That's the whale saying hi...just over Neil's shoulder. Incredible animals. Beautiful.
